2018: A Year in Review

It’s been a few months since I’ve written anything, but these last few months of 2018 have been a maelstrom of excitement, change, and progression! I’ve been home from California for a little over two months and it’s given me the opportunity to not only rest and live my life in the present, but to reflect on this past year and everything it’s given me.
2018 has been a year of firsts and celebration; I traveled alone for the first time, a best friend got engaged, I graduated from college, I went on my first real road trip, I worked on farms and explored California, I returned to my alma mater Virginia Tech as an Alumna, I got a tattoo with another best friend, I celebrated holidays and birthdays with family and friends (happy 23 to me!), and every last thing I did has made me the woman I am today. Reflecting on everything I’ve had the chance to do reminds me that there is so much opportunity and so much love in the world if you search for it. I’m lucky enough to have a support system that encourages and enables me to forge my own path in life.
I’ve learned so much this past year and it’s allowed me to move forward in this adventure we call life. I’m so excited to continue traveling and learning on the beautiful island of Oahu, Hawaii!! This trip was a graduation gift to me from my Mom’s older sisters: round trip airfare and lodging whenever I wanted to go! I know, what an incredible and generous gift, right?! So I’ve done my planning and I fly out of Washington TODAY- RIGHT NOW! I’m so stoked for this trip and all the firsts it’s going to give me, but more importantly I’m grateful to have the chance to start off the new year with a SERIOUS bang.
I hope you’re as excited as I am to hear about my adventures as I am to write about them!
Aloha, stay curious, and happy travels!
