Road Trip Itinerary

So like i said in my first post, the first part of my trip is our road trip around the national parks of the west!!! It’s gonna be ~amazing~ so to give you the down low here’s our whole itinerary by date:

July 19th: Thursday

- Fly into L.A.

- Complete necessary packing/preparation

- Spend remaining time with Haley’s family (Hollywood, Santa Monica, meal times, etc.)

- Sleep at family house

July 20th: Friday

- Family day!

- Sleep at family house

July 21st: Saturday

- Family day!

- Sleep at family house

July 22nd: Sunday

- Drive 3 hrs 47 min to Sequoia

- Sequoia National Forest

- Camp on site

July 23rd: Monday

- Wake early and take the 5 hr forest scenic route to Owen’s Lake

- Quick stop for lunch picnic at Owen’s Lake

- Continue driving 2 hours 56 minutes to Death Valley National Park

- Enjoy the evening hours at Death Valley

- Camp on site

July 24th: Tuesday

- Spend day at Death Valley National Park

- Drive 1 hour 5 min. to the Mesquite Sand Dunes for sunset

- Mesquite Dunes

- Drive 2 hrs 30 min into Vegas at night

- Sleep in Vegas (airbnb, hostel, or hotel)

July 25th: Wednesday:

- Drive 1 hr 14 min to the Valley of Fire

- Spend half day Valley of Fire

- Drive 2 hrs 40 min to Zion

- Explore Zion

- Sleep airbnb close by

July 26th: Thursday

- Complete Angel’s Landing Hike (Zion-5.2 mile hike)

- Camp on site

July 27th: Friday

- Free day/recovery day: swimming in the Virgin River!!

- Camp on site

July 28th: Saturday

- Drive 1 hr 50 min to Bryce Canyon National Park

- Enjoy Bryce Canyon

- 8 mile hike at Bryce

- Camp on site

July 29th: Sunday

- Drive 4 hrs to Goblin Valley State Park

- Goblin Valley State Park

- Wake early and drive 2 hrs 7 min to Arches

- Arches all day

- Camp on site

July 30th: Monday

- Arches half day

- Drive 2 hrs 50 min to Monument Valley

- Half day Monument Valley

- Camp on site

July 31st: Tuesday

- Drive 2 hrs 9 min to Antelope Canyon

- Antelope Canyon half day

- Drive 20 minutes to Lake Powell

- Half Day Lake Powell

- Camp on site

August 1st: Wednesday

- Morning at Lake Powell

- Drive 10 minutes to Wahweap Overlook

- Stop at Wahweap Overlook

- Drive 20 minutes to Horseshoe Bend

- Stop at Horseshoe Bend

- Drive 2 hrs 23 min to Grand Canyon

- Camp on site

August 2nd: Thursday

- Complete Grand Canyon time in half day

- Drive 5 hrs 36 min back to Joshua Tree

- Camp on site

August 3rd: Friday

- Joshua Tree all day

- Drive back to LA

I know this is a LOT of information so thank you for baring with me- I’ll be posting pictures, camping information, and any hiking/reservation/national park info every day with each stop. If you want to learn anything in particular about any sites or national parks, look no further than the Federal Recreation site! It has information about all of the national parks and any camping areas available within the parks!
