This is the first and likely the last time I’ll ever be in Vegas and let me tell you my only impression so far is that it’s freaking HOT. We were supposed to go to Death Valley last night but it was so hot in the desert that we would’ve suffocated in our sleep (no joke). At one point last night it was so hot in the desert that the car windows were hot. It was so weird. ANYWAYS. It’s about 10:30 here and it’s already 103 degrees so we’ll likely be having a morning spent in the pool. I shall provide updates on Vegas related shenanigans tonight!
Edit: Today we started the day at Hoover dam and boy was it HOT. Afterwords we came back to the airbnb to refresh ourselves (and wound up oversleeping) then picked up dinner to take to red rock canyon for sunset. We stayed and chatted in a parking lot until we found out that the park was closed at the front where we entered. We wound up driving 6 miles through the park to the one exit that was still open. We’re currently getting ready to go out because we’re in Vegas!!!!!!
The Uber driver that picked us up was super awesome and kind so we had a great drive heading to the strip. When we got to the Bellagio I was blown away- it was so massive and beautiful and crazy. We walked around and stopped at some slots and tables and it was like a whole ‘nother world. The people were so diverse and interesting so we had a blast people watching. Nick played some blackjack and Jenny, Haley, and I went to the club Hyde and danced our freaking hearts out. It was so so so much fun and we met some really interesting people. Vegas was totally crazy and I’m really glad that I went and totally immersed myself in the experience.
Stay curious and happy travels!
