Day 2 got us to a bunch of really cool places. Most of the group started off their day going to see the sunrise down by the cliffs, but I stayed to catch up on some much needed sleep. The morning was really nice; I got to do some yoga to loosen up from the plane ride, we saw a peacock with its feather’s all stretched out, and had a lovely breakfast with the family. After breakfast we got cleaned up and ready to head out to tide pools beach.

Tide pools beach was really cool because we somehow managed to get there during low tide. The rocks were out and you could look into the different nooks and crannies and see entire little ecosystems filled with sea urchins, muscles, crabs, and all kinds of other creatures. It was really fun to walk around and look at all everything with Shana and the kids.

For lunch we went to In-N-Out which was super fun. Everyone that worked there was super nice and gave us Easterners advice on what to order so I ordered a veggie burger animal style with fries. It was yummy but I was totally expecting an actual veggie patty, but it wound up being just the toppings- which was fine because it was only $4 for the fries and the “burger” so who’s the real winner here?

Next we went to torrence beach to check out a real SoCal beach. It was big and beautiful and so much fun. We spent around two hours just lounging on the beach, walking, and spending time together. After the beach we grabbed some beer, headed home for dinner, and got an awesome surprise when Haley’s good friend from school, Nick Toasty, popped in to hang out. We spent the evening playing music, singing, chatting, and everything in between. It was a really lovely evening.

Stay curious and happy travels!
