Hey hey and thanks for checking out my blog! My name is Rachel Trizna, aka Triz, and I’m a 23 year old gal that loves to travel. I'm a 2018 Virginia Tech alum (Go Hokies!) and I decided to take some time to do some traveling before I settle into the job scene. I have a BAS in Psychology with a concentration in Neuroscience from Virginia Tech and I love to learn. I've always been a woman of many passions- art, science, music, travel, history, language, you name it and I've either dabbled in it or I plan to one day. I'm a huge nerd and book lover, a festival goer, an avid beer drinker, a feminist, and a singer. All of these hobbies have landed me some life long friends, and for that I'm forever grateful.
Now all that’s interesting and good, but what does this all have to do with a travel blog?
Well I’ve had some incredible opportunities in my 23 years that have sparked my passion for travel: I lived in Germany for a period of my childhood where I got the chance to travel all across Europe at the ripe age of 11, learning the German language and world histories as I went. In High School I continued my language education and participated in an exchange program in Nuremberg, Germany. My Junior year of college I studied abroad through Virginia Tech’s program “Creating Sustainable Social Change”, where I traveled to Lugano, Switzerland for 9 weeks to travel and take classes on Social Psychology, Business, and Sustainability Practices. I then had the INCREDIBLE opportunity to travel to Rwanda for 5 weeks to work with NGO’s (Non-government organizations) teaching in their local summer programs and learning about their culture and history.
I’m incredibly grateful for everything that I’ve gotten to experience. I’m also incredibly fortunate to have had family and friends that have pushed me, loved me, and supported me along the way to push me out the door, backpack on, to my current adventures. I can’t wait to find the new places that my feet will lead me!
Stay curious and happy travels!
